AFROCENTRIC GROUP DONATES A VEHICLE TO HELP HOSPITAL SCHOOL CHILDREN

Wednesday, 2 October 2019

AfroCentric Group donated a vehicle to support the staff of the Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Hospital School. The vehicle will provide much needed transportation for the children and teachers of the school.

The vehicle, which can transport up to 15 passengers at a time, was also fitted with features to accommodate patients with limited mobility. “AfroCentric Group has a long and proud history of association with the Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Hospital School and over the last 12 years we have made a contribution of over R3 million to improve the school in a number of ways. Transport has been a challenge for the school and this donation, valued in excess of R800 000, will ensure that more than 35 learners of the school can be transported easily and conveniently,” says Dr Anna Mokgokong (Chairman of AfroCentric Group).

“The future of this country belongs to the youth and access to better education and health is key to their success. As a caring organisation, we believe in getting involved to ensure that children do not miss out on an opportunity to learn while receiving treatment for their health challenges,” adds Mokgokong.

Dr Anna Mokgokong was joined by the Gauteng MEC for Health Dr Bandile Masuku and the principal of the school, Ms Lydia Phephi. “AfroCentric Group is truly a shining example of deep care and kindness.  The vehicle will enable us to safely transport the kids and take care of any transportation needs of the school. We appreciate the generous donation,” said Lydia Phephi, Principal of the Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Hospital School.

AfroCentric Group has previously helped the school to establish the custom made playground, renovated the school and helped the school to have a computer lab.
